PG All Stars Cheer is a cheerleading program for athletes ages 4 – 19 in Prince George. This organization offers a positive and safe environment for Prince George youth to develop as athletes & leaders through the sport of cheerleading.
Before the group began in Prince George, the community did not have opportunities for those looking to pursue an interest in cheerleading. Jessica MacDonald, Head Coach for the organization, has coached cheerleading for close to a decade and states she “felt she could take her passion and build something here that would be pretty awesome for the youth in the community”.
Founded in 2018, PG All Stars Cheer helps to prepare their athletes for all levels of the sport – from recreational to competitive. Coach MacDonald has seen competitive cheer build confidence, teamwork, and work ethic in the youth she coaches. Participants gain experience and confidence taking on leadership roles through their practice with the team, and take that forward with them in other aspects of their lives.
As Jessica MacDonald says “You can not be quiet when you’re an elite cheerleader”.
The team with All Stars Cheer has also helped to put Prince George on the map for cheerleading, successfully competing in competitions across not just the province, but Canada as well. This gives youth the chance to travel & gain new experiences through the sport. They teach that you are stronger as a team, and continue to focus on developing their athlete’s strengths and talents to help reach their full potential.
For PG All Stars Cheer, it’s all about making a difference to the kids in their program. They look forward to the return of spectator events in the near future & continue to support the community as a team. In the meantime, they continue to help youth in Prince George grow on & off the mat.
PG All Stars Cheer is currently taking registrations for their REC Cheer season starting in November.
