CrossFit Northern Ice is facility that prides itself on promoting fun, fitness, and community. Starting 7 years ago in Prince George as a way to help out his son, Stephen O’Beirne has now created a location where he sees fear & intimidation give way to inspiration & achievement. The Northern Ice team works to create a family in the gym where everyone is a name & person, not just a number. At CrossFit Northern Ice, everyone is seen as an athlete.
Now home to 200 members – with ages ranging as from 5 – 72 years old, the gym continues to operate on 3 core values: family, community, & personal responsibility. As Northern Ice’s community supports the gym, CrossFit Northern Ice feels a responsibility to support them right back.
Northern Ice gives back through a variety of donation drives throughout the year – with past support going towards Christmas Hampers, Women’s Shelters, the SPCA, and members in need after tragedies or accidents.
Stephen says “it’s a great place for everyone to get together, share their love of fitness, and find the best in each other”. Stephen hopes to see the positive changes he sees in his members can continue to reflect positively in the greater Prince George community as well.
CrossFit Northern Ice is also home to 2 trained CrossFit Kids coaches, continuing on with the way Northern Ice began with Stephen & his son. Their youth programs have a goal of helping to prevent childhood obesity through the creation of a strong fitness foundation in kids. They work to create a child-focused program geared towards instilling an excitement for exercise & healthy eating. They hope to teach youth that workouts can be fun & offer lessons applicable to other aspects of their daily lives.
CrossFit Northern Ice is located at 1914 South Quinn St in Prince George.
