The PG Golf & Curling Club is a multi-sport facility that offers a full-service restaurant, driving range, pro shop, and of course, golf & curling facilities. Through partnerships with community tenants, the club also offers activities like rock-climbing, hockey, pickleball, and tennis. Through this wide range of sport opportunities, the PG Golf & Curling Club works to serve PG residents with a location to try all kinds of activities and find a community to experience them with. The facility strives to make all members of the community welcome when they drop in, and provide a great experience to all.
The club has hosted many events through the years, including many charity golf-tournaments, curling bonspiels, and even the 2015 Canada Winter Games Curling Competition. With the World Women’s Curling Championships around the corner, the club looks forward to residents getting the chance to try the sport for themselves during their drop-in curling sessions, and is happy for the chance to host some of the competing international teams for a few practices. The club also offers adult & youth curling leagues for those looking to get involved in more regulated play.
While the popularity of the sport facilities is clear, another great feature is the main restaurant of the club. Fully renovated with all-new furniture, the club’s general manager, Don McDermid, invites residents to come check out the club restaurant, praising the chance to check out what he calls the “best deck in town for the summertime”.
The team with PG Golf & Curling continues that the restaurant is not an exclusive “clubhouse” – no membership is required to eat there. Simone Dauvin, Food & Beverage Manager, explains that “we’re more your neighborhood pub prices, but with a more fine-dining atmosphere”. During the Championships from March 19 -27, the restaurant will be broadcasting the games on their big screens for those looking to grab a bite or drink after their time on the curling sheets.
The PG Golf & Curling Club is located at 2601 Recplace Drive in Prince George.
