Opening in 2009 Ruckus has been providing bike and board service to prince george for over a decade.
“So in the summer, we’re full bike service. We’ve got a huge service shop in the back, a really good crew of mechanics, which we are pretty proud of actually,” said Jacob Mullen, Manager at Ruckus.
In the winter they change pace, but outdoor sport is still the number one.
“In the winter we transfer over to ski waxing, ski tune ups and servicing. We do a lot of custom boot fitting as well. We’re pretty strong on that and we really actually quite enjoy it,” said Mullen.
Sports like skiing and snowboarding have been popular in Canada for years but Mountain biking is on the rise recently.
“It’s growing quickly. It was, you know, when the store first opened, it was pretty small. You kind of knew everybody in the mountain bike community. There is still a pretty good amount of people doing it, but since then it’s, you know, quadrupled,” said Mullen
If you were thinking about getting your start in trail riding, or just biking around town The crew at Ruckus invites you to stop by.
“We’re super happy to point in the right direction or, you know, just need somebody to go ride with, come stop by were genuinely happy to either, you know, sneak out for a bike ride with you if we have time or send you over to our friend that’s going for a bike ride in the evening,” said Mullen.
That community focus is why Ruckus got nominated for Amplify
“It means a lot. We are really proud of our community. You know, we try to help support as best as we can, do everything that we can in our community, whether it be out on the trails or, you know, out for city commuters or whatever. I’d say we’re very lucky to have that support from our customers,” said Mullen.
