Premier David Eby. A man of many talents. Great public speaker, strong community organizer and one heck of a musician.
The most powerful man in British Columbia was in a couple bands back in the early 2000’s. In 2008 his group World of Science dropped the compellation “Makeout Music” on the bandcamp. Slow melodic vocal punctuated by synth drums.
Fast forward a few years and David “How’s the weather up there?” Eby and few members of World of Science form a new group called Ladner. Not just a community in Delta, BC but an acronym for:
L – lively and loud 5 member, 4 piece band
A – artistic and angelic, except when drinking wine out of a bottle with a cork swimming in it
D – dash of disorganization but incredibly charming group of chaps
N – neverending cacophony of sound turned into breathless melodies
E – epic jams produced by epic people
R – rrrrock and rrrroll
His soft voice and smooth guitar playing made for that quintessential indie rock sound of the day. Ladner would share 6 produced tracks in 2011 on their ReverbNation profile…And they still live online for all British Columbians to enjoy.
