Some of the best songs of the past few decades are cover songs. Blinded by the Light, I love Rock & Roll, Heaven, Smooth Criminal, just to name a few. Eminem just released Houdini, borrowing from Steve Millers “Abracadabra”. Former lead singer of Van Halen, David Lee Roth also just released his own version of “567-5309” from Tommy Two Tone.
As good as some original songs may be, a cover has the potential to take a song to a higher level. What is your favorite cover song?
