Lots of information came out yesterday (December 16) for the Fall Economic Statement, but the best news was that Terry Fox is going to be the new face on the Canadian $5 bill! It’s been a long time coming, and it is so great to see this Canadian icon and hero featured on our money.
Terry will be replacing Sir Wilfred Laurier, Canada’s first French prime minister. Laurier will be heading to the $50 and will replace William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada’s prime minister’s through the Great Depression and World War II. No word on where he will be featured.
The Prince George Terry Fox Run will be taking place on Sunday, September 14th 2025 at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. Sylvia would be ecstatic to see you there!
