2025 marks 45 years since Terry Fox embarked on his Marathon of Hope, and it also marks the 45th Annual Terry Fox Run.
Yesterday (February 4th) was World Cancer Day, The Terry Fox Foundation revealed a new short film Finish It. The Foundation joined forces with The Tragically Hip and depicts a CGI Terry Fox look alike running alone on an empty road, only to be joined by thousands of runners, symbolizing that even after 45 years, Terry’s legacy is alive and well.
The video is accompanied by Gord Downie’s original vocals of The Tragically Hip’s 1991 classic Courage. You can watch it below.
This year’s Terry Fox Run campaign is Finish It – “Terry Fox started a marathon against cancer. Together we can end it.” The Terry Fox Run is scheduled for September 14th at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.
