Founded in 1952, PGARA Speedway has been keeping residents of Prince George on the edge of their seat for over 70 years.
Over the years, the team at PGARA have hosted a wide range of events from Monster Trucks, Hornet Racing, Big Rigs, and the community favourite “Hit to Pass”. After all of these years of events, the speedway recently announced that for the 2022 season, the track will receive a fresh coat of asphalt to smooth out the circuit. PGARA’s opening weekend is currently slated for June.
Aaron Conn, Vice President at PGARA, says fans aren’t the only people excited for the return to racing. The number of drivers looking to race has been steadily increasing. He explains “pretty sure on every class we’ve gained cars – and not just one or two, more like five or six”.
Other racers returning to PGARA after a long hiatus include the Big Rigs, who haven’t made a visit to PGARA in over a decade. They will also be making their return this racing season.
Heading into the race season, PGARA mentions that they would be unable to hold any of these events without the steadfast support of their sponsors & the community.
