The PG Redditor unknownoftheunkown set off the PG Reddit page this week with their question about our city’s growth.
Do you want PG to grow?
It worries me when our mayor and other politicians constantly talk about growing Prince George.I don’t want to live in a 100,000+ person city, I moved back here to live in an 80,000 person city.
Why do we need to “grow” PG and do you want it to grow?
We talked about this on the show and this is how listeners reacted.
A call from Courtney who was also concerned about green space.
A text from Mikaila
I don’t want Prince George to grow anymore than it already has because I already had to live in Vancouver for four months of my life and having to figure out how to drive in busier traffic nearly killed me, so the thought of having to do it here at home too no way man no way
From Janine
Growth is wonderful. However, we need to fix what we have first. Not only that, they are removing all the green space . Those animals are losing their homes, too. So there is good and bad for both sides of the question!
There were some great comments on the orginal Reddit post too:

There is benefit to some growth. Cities over 100k in population start to generate an internal economy capable of resisting external pressures. This would make PG less sensitive to market downturns and industry fluctuations.
Does Prince George need to grow??
