My wife is always puts herself in the backseat !
My wife (Tammy Jewsbury) always puts herself in the backseat to everyone in all situations! This is why I would like to nominate her for Special Valentines day package, Love has Wings where she can spend some time for herself and make her feel appreciated for everything that she does to help others on a daily basis.
here are a few examples;
- There was an older couple both in their 90's that had a home care worker come in daily to check on them. However the care that was needed extended far beyond the 1 to 2 hours that the care worker could spend there. So my wife stepped in like a good neighbor and helped. The extended family of the older couple lived in Florida so was not able to help. My wife was at a moments beckon call if they needed assistance, sometimes the task was not the most glamorous, helping them clean-up after a washroom accident etc. She would keep in touch with the extended family and continued to help the older couple when they were admitted into a long term care facility and then later when they passed away helped the family with local funeral arrangements - she was happy to have know the couple and became the daughter that they never had, never asking for anything in return.
- Another older couple she helped, an elderly neighbor, she also gave assistance in much the same manner until there extended family was able to get into town and take over. Doing things for others makes her feel happy and helpful.
- My wife enjoys Gardening so much that when she meets others that have the same passion they can talk for hours, in this past year she met a lady that was having knee problems and was not able to get into her garden that was getting overgrown. My wife arrange a time with her to go over to her house and help get her garden all weeded and looking good. The smile on the ladies face and a hug made my wife feel great about helping... it maybe was something small but very much appreciated for a fellow gardener.
- At times throughout the year my wife will come home and tell me about someone she met in the grocery store. She will tell me how when she saw the person that they were holding many coupons and also looked like they were trying to make some hard choices on what "necessities" they could purchase and what needed to be put back while in the cashiers line, obviously on a very tight budget. It is times like this my wife talks to the cashier about including the persons groceries in her total and pays it forward. One story she told me ended with the person she was paying for crying and thanking her for her kindness.
- Holiday times are very hard for some people, each holiday season my wife sets money aside as pay it forward money. She then goes out and looks for pay it forward moments to help and spread small acts of random kindness.
- At Home, she is always the first one up and often the last one to bed, her demanding entourage usually following her first thing in the morning waiting for her to open the cat food can. Between helping her elderly mother that lives 14 hours away, Working Full-time, The home, The Kids, Cats, Husband (at times away on business), and taking a couple online university courses... her 6 day a week 18 hour days make me exhausted just thinking about it. I do not know how she does it.
Her caring nature always puts her last, These examples are only a small sampling of how she contributes to the community around her. I believe she is a perfect candidate for this nomination that will give her time to relax and enjoy being near the ocean that she loves so much.
Thank-You for giving me the means to nominate Tammy Jewsbury for her kindness and caring she works hard to give others.
Sincerely;
Her husband of 28 years - Gordon Jewsbury
