She's the Type of Mom I want to be
My mom has been the ultimate helper for everyone in our family.
Firstly, she helps to look after her parents who are living independently (at the age of 91, and 92) in Prince Rupert. This means multiple trips for extremely strenuous visits to help out with a variety of tasks. This also means dealing with the multiple complaints and discussions with my grandparents.
I am a single mother, and she helps me whenever she can. She will babysit whenever I need help or need a night out. She always makes sure I get to my doctor's appointments and have the medications for my condition, regardless of what treats she has to give up for herself to afford them. She gives me time to study so I can continue my education, and even helps with laundry when its gets to be too much for me and my young daughter.
My dad has heart issues and possible cancer - she has to make sure that he is okay, as he wont.
And on top of everything else, she has her own health to deal with. Today she had surgery, and she was still wanting to take me for lunch to make sure that my daughter and I ate a good meal. She is the most selfless person I have ever met. She makes sure to be at ever dance class for my daughter, and spoils her to no end. All while making sure she grows up with manners and the ability to make good decisions. We don't have a lot of money, but its the effort she puts into everything she does that makes us realize how much she cares about us (such as making beautiful birthday cakes for all my friend's and co-workers, making big meals every Sunday night).
My mom is the best example of the mom I want to be for my daughter.
