Superwoman
My moms been raising 4 of us girls on her own since I was in second grade. Most people would say it's an impossible job to raising 4 teenage girls, yet here I am preparing to go to law school in the near future... Obviously she's done one heck of a job. My oldest sister moved to Australia two years ago, and my two younger sisters haven't graduated high school yet. My mom has done everything for us, with no vacation or break for the last 10 years! She went back to nursing school after my parents divorced and managed to get her LPN nursing license, all while raising 4 pre-teenagers.
In eighth grade my mom was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She went to her doctors appointments and surgeries, but still managed to take care of the four of us. Now here I am, a broke college student trying to make ends meet.
When my spirits are low and I feel like I can't do it anymore I remember how my mom struggled through much worse and still managed to raise 4 wonderful girls. She's the most generous person I've ever met and I'm lucky to say she passed her generosity onto me. My old teacher's 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia and right away my mom and I both took action. We collected donations from local businesses and auctioned them off in an event called "Fun for Funds". She showed me that even though you yourself are struggling, does not mean you can't help others that are struggling as well. I could never ask for a better woman in my life, without her, I would not have become the young lady I am today.
