My inspiration.
Hi, my name is Jewel, i'm 15 years old and i'm going to tell you why my mom Christy, deserves something special this Mothers day.
My mom was 24 when she had my older brother, so she didn't get to live out her 20's as glamorously as she would've wanted to, but she always says she never regrets having me and my brother. From the time i was 12 to a few months before my 13th birthday my mother was a single mom, people always criticized the way my mom was raising me and my brother, she worked nights so it was up to me and my brother to make dinner and put ourselves to bed, it was hard not having my mom home all the time but i had to take responsibility because i knew just how hard my mom was working to put food on the table for me and my brother. You see my brother has autism so i had to help look out for him and remind him to take his pills, people criticized that to, "a 12 year old shouldn't have to look out for a 16 year old" and so on a so forth, I used to agree but i see now that looking out for my brother was the main way i could help my mom while she was working. The summer before my 13th birthday my mom met my stepdad Shane and things got easier, we moved here to Prince George in 2015, Currently my mom is working nights at a restaurant so she's normally very tired and doesn't make us lunch like a "normal mom" should, I believe in being independent, I know for a fact my mom doesn't have to make me a school lunch to show she's a terrific mom, she's been working and fighting for me and my brother since we were born, she supports me and my dreams to go to Blanche Macdonald. I don't have to prove to her that i can pass a class because she knows i can. My mother is my best friend, my inspiration and my hero.
