My Mom is My Hero.
Hero - a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
Many people often note that their hero is a celebrity or an athlete. But for me, my hero is my mom, Donna Ball.
10 years ago my mother never would have imagined having to be a single mother to her two daughters. But when the unimaginable happened, she found strength, she found hope and she found courage. Being a stay at home mom for many years, my mom decided to enroll in college. Living on student loans and income assistance, my mom always promised us that everything would be okay. After two years of college and two years at UNBC, my mom completed her Social Work Degree! Watching her graduate was such a proud moment for me as her daughter. As soon as my mom graduated she was out in the work field! Although they were not jobs as a Social Worker, she worked 3 jobs non-stop to support my sister and I. Even after working all day and a night shift she drove me to all my basketball games and practices and was always on the sideline being my number 1 fan. She always encourages us to do our best, to make mistakes, and to forgive. She was and is my number 1 fan, which is why I will always be hers. She has been through many struggles and battles in life, but she never fails to amaze me with how she handles them.
This is why my mom is my hero.
