The reason I am successfull today
I will begin my story with a brief introduction of my mother. My mom's name is Tina. Born in Vermillion, raised in Prince George. Got married and raised a family of four children in Fort St. James for several years and now has been residing in both FSJ and PG back and forth for the last 10 years.
There are many reasons why my mother deserves to win this contest. Well, she is beautiful, funny, caring, generous, selfless and an amazing cook and housekeeper.the list could go on for ever with adjuctives.
But lets be honest here, Why should my mother win? Well let's just say, she made it through raising me. I was a colicky baby who never let my mom rest. I was a terrible toddler, and by terrible I mean, my mother was unable to work because not one babysitter would accept me. I was like Dennis the Menace. Sitters literally hung up the phone on my mother. When I hit preteens, I consistently ran away, and caused alot trouble at school. I was kicked out of sports and suspended from school. I was an angry rebelleous teenager who hated everyone,I was mean, I talked back. I was every parents worst nightmare. I continued to get into trouble throughout highschool and thereafter (until college. i actually decided to grow up one day).
My mom always picked up my friends and I from parties so nobody drank and drove home. She even picked me up from the drunk tank, twice. Stood by me in court once when I got into a little too much fun.
She sat beside me in a tattoo parlor for my 15th birthday where a scary, long haired, tatted up man tattooed a lizard on my back while System of a Down was blaring. She has been there and helped me through everything.
All the crap I put her through, she never left. All the grey hair I caused her before 30, she stood by my side on top of raising my three younger siblings.
Want to know what tops everything though? the number one reason in my books why she deserves an award? I became pregnant when I was in my 3rd year of nursing school and I was so afraid of losing my future, my career that i worked so hard for. My mom quit her job and bought a house in Prince George to help me raise my baby while i finished my fourth and final year. She also housed me in her basement suite.
I am now a mother myself of 3 crazy kids. and my mother is still here for me, helping me along the way being the best grandmother my kids could ask for.
I am so lucky to have been blessed with her as my mom!
